Boozhoo.
What a long strange trip it’s been. I guess that I should have been clued in when I kept pulling the Tower card and The Hermit. Luckily I am a Scorpio and feel comfortable in the “burn it down and arise from the ashes once again” phase of life. I won’t go into it all here but life firmly placed us on our butts and said “I just want you to sit here and think about what you’ve done.” We have been through a long recurring illness (pneumonia) and upheaval of family structure that has left us feeling unable to just jump up and proceed with life as usual. We are easily tired and not very strong and I for one am learning to embrace this. David isn’t quite as on board with this being more influenced by his yang energy. I feel truly blessed that I have been forced to stop and take a good long look at my life and how I live it and see what changes need to be made - sort of a recalibration if you will. Although this period has been frustrating I have gathered so many understandings that it will take quite awhile to unpack it all. I fully intend to share these gifts with you as we emerge back out into the world and join the dance again but in a new and deeper way.
We began the apprenticeship last weekend and I am so grateful for the incredible people that are joining us on this adventure of ceremony and living in relationship. We had a beautiful day for it and felt grateful for the community we are creating. Classes are a lovely mix of activity, teaching, ceremony and connection.
One of our first activities was to create vision boards that we will be working with during this time until we meet again. You can see mine above. I will share some of my teaching on this here:
Your collage is spirit made manifest. You have asked the Universe for insights and answers and now you have in front of you the reply. It does not matter whether you use the term God/Goddess, Creator, Great Mystery or any other terms relating to the overlying embodiment of Spirit. I feel that we are held and listened to and that we will receive help and advice when we ask for it. There are many ways to receive this information – some people see visions, some hear voices, some have a deep knowing. A very accessible way for all peoples is through images either received internally or seen externally right in front of you. The wonderful thing about images is that the meaning is individual. There may be commonalities throughout cultures and peoples but each person is free to interpret what an image means to them based on their history and understandings. Think of this in terms of all the books that work with dreams. You can find books that tell you what snake means but it doesn’t take into account what your experiences with snake are. For instance, when I see snake it represents shedding of skins and a chance for regrowth. For someone who has had an uncomfortable encounter with snake it could mean danger and to be aware. This is your collage. You stated the focus of the collage and were presented with a slew of images and words and you chose the ones that resonated with you. Now we will take a deeper look at the messages the collage has for you.
I truly feel that the more play that is involved in our work with spirit the deeper the understandings and healings that occur. This was a fun way to start off our process.
Well - it is time for a nap again.
