Mukwa nindoodem. My clan is bear. This picture show a number of Ojibwe clan representations including bear. Traditionally bear clan members were the protectors of the people who were responsible for safeguarding the community. This work required that they spend a lot of time patrolling on the perimeters of the camp and so were able to learn where the medicines lived and how to use them. I feel the presence of bear in my life very deeply.
